Bonsoir!
Today we visited the famous Champs-Elysees
which is known as la plus belle avenue du monde
the most beautiful avenue in the world.
While it is gorgeous, it is also a tourist hot spot
and a wealthy woman's dream.
Chanel and Louis Vuitton made for excellent
window shopping, but I dare not set a foot
inside the doors;) nonetheless, it was a fantastic
experience to be able to walk the whole length,
especially considering where it takes you.
At the end of the Champs-Elysees is the Arc de Triomphe,
whose grandeur is stunning and memorial is heartwarming.
Standing 164 feet tall, I felt like an ant in comparison!
The Arc is a memorial for those who fought and died
in the French Revolutionary War.
Under the Arc is the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier
where an eternal flame burns for all the unidentified
soldiers from both world wars.
Enjoy the photos!

Arc de Triomphe

There was an air show that flew right over the
Champs-Elysees while we were walking down
it.  Everyone stopped walking and was looking
up at the sky.  It was strange because time kinda
stood still for a few minutes while dozens and
dozens of planes flew overhead and people stood
in awe at the sight.  Naturally, I thought the world
was coming to an end with so many fighter
planes flying above my head, but luckily it was
just a friendly fly by :) if you look close you
can see people looking out of their balconies!

The Tomb of the Unknown Soldier and the
eternal flame that is lit for the unidentified soldiers

The Seine, the sun, and the tower!

The entrance to Abercrombie and Fitch
looks like the entrance to a castle?

The LINE to get into Abercrombie and Fitch.
Kinda ridiculous!

to the Champs-Elysees

Good night my friends!
